18 years. 🎉

Yes, 18 years with the same business, and I’m often asked: “How have you stayed at one company for so long?”

The answer is simple: I haven’t been doing the same job.

We work in an industry that constantly evolves. Technology, ways of working, team structures, and customer challenges never stand still. What’s kept it exciting for me is not just adapting, but helping shape how we respond through systems, teams, and the questions we choose to ask.

One mindset that has stayed with me is not just asking “has the answer changed?” but “is this still the right question?” It drives better decisions, challenges assumptions, and focuses effort where it creates the most long-term value.

I started my journey 18 years ago today as a junior PHP developer. Since then, I’ve grown through roles as a senior, team leader, and now Tech Lead for Private Cloud, focusing increasingly on platform strategy, architecture, and long-term outcomes. Over time, my focus has shifted from writing code, to designing systems, to thinking broadly about how technology, people, and process come together to deliver meaningful outcomes.

While the day-to-day has changed, one thing hasn’t, the energy I get from working with great people who care about making a real difference. Recently, that dedication was recognised when we won Broadcom’s Innovation Award, a testament to what we can achieve together.

18 years in one place might sound unusual, but when you’re continuously learning, challenging the status quo, and helping others grow along the way, it doesn’t feel that way.

Excited for what comes next, and continuing to build, learn, and contribute. 🚀 ☁️
